PCR tests, which stand for polymerase chain reaction, are used to diagnose infectious diseases or genetic diseases. These tests work by finding abnormal cells, i.e., deformative DNA or RNA. This test is able to find pathogens, even with a small amount of them, in the body.
At Lifenity, we check for infection by taking a sample of your blood, mucus, tissues, or saliva. The sample is then placed in a machine, which produces multiple copies of the sample, meaning the pathogens are copied too, and the result is shown in the machine.
In the swab test, technicians take samples from the anterior nares (sore throat). The procedure requires 10 to 15 seconds. In this procedure, a swab is inserted in your nostrils, and the sample is tested.
The T.A.T. timing of the PCR test is 12 hours. We will collect samples from your house, and you will not need to stand in queues to get tested and wait for your results.
